Then, after I exited sysinstall and restarted it, Label and Newfs worked. I repeated this procedure twice (Fdisk, Label, Newfs), and got the same results the second time around (Label after Fdisk fails; exit sysinstall; restart; then Label succeeds). >How-To-Repeat: Included in problem description. Start sysinstall, Fdisk, Label, and Newfs a data partition. In my case at least, Label right after Fdisk fails. >Fix: Exit sysinstall after Fdisk, restart, then it works.
