Greetings, I'm a unix admin of 13yrs and the other day my neighbor ask me to help him install Freebsd on on his laptop. No problem. I had it on a an intel machine at my own house. He had downloaded and burned several CDs so we made the boot disk and off we went. Today, we tried to recompile the kernel to include apm. Again, no problem, but when we refered to your online documentation it was less then helpful. Chapter nine is in need of a serious rewrite. Paths are incorrect, the instructions on simply mounting a CD and untarring the /usr/sys directory will not allow you to compile a kernel ! Of course, you get what you pay for right? No reply neccesary, 13yrs pays off again. hg _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-doc" in the body of the message
