Are you running the config(8) command in the correct directory,
i.e. the one that the file MYKERNEL exists in?  You might also want to
note that the recommended way of building kernels (the one suggested
by /usr/src/UPDATING) is to create a kernel config called MYKERNEL in
/usr/src/sys/i386/conf and then run:

	# cd /usr/src
	# make KERNCONF=MYKERNEL buildkernel
