So I tried once again like that 'cvs commit 2>&1 |more'. But then vi decided that it doesn't want to speak with output that is not a terminal, and left me with some mixed garbage on the screen. I tried to blindly press 'a' to abort, and at the end there was a message 'commit aborted' (and there was no commit mail), but later I realized that some things have been committed anyway...
