Funny enough, kde2 logout didn't work for me in 4.1.1, but when I cvsupped to 4.2-release and compiled and installed everything, logout worked fine. Unless you want to be able to leave a desktop setup and have it come back the way you left it, I don't think there's any important reason to get logout working. Besides, ctrl-alt-bksp is much faster than the kde2 logout. Is there anything I can look for on my machine to see why logout does work for me? If anyone is willing and interested, I'll look at whatever files control that. I have no idea where, so somebody would have to dig it up and tell me what files to check.
