Actually, compatible systems for Darwin include:

*	Power Macintosh 7300, 7600, 8500, 8600, 9500, 9600
*	Power Macintosh G3
*	PowerBook G3 (Wall Street)
*	Power Macintosh G3 (Blue & White)
*	Power Macintosh G4
*	PowerBook G3 (bronze keyboard)
*	iBook
*	iMac

The MacOSX/Darwin Bootloader has been pushed to the CVS repository recently and supports some Old and all New World Machines (mainly all 601/603 machines are unsupported).
"It understands loading kernels from HFS+, UFS, TFTP and even EXT2. It can load kernels in Mach-O and ELF format."
