That path should not exist on your system. If it does, something's gone
wrong somewhere. The correct path for kernel config files (on IA32) is
/usr/src/sys/i386/conf
Many systems have a symlink from /sys to /usr/src/sys so you could just
do
cd /sys/i386/conf
