1. The FreeBSD Developer's Handbook.
2. The FreeBSD Architecture Handbook.
3. The book 'The Design and Implementation of the FreeBSD
   Operating System', by Kirk McKusick and George
   Neville-Neil.
3. The section 9 manual pages.
4. The source code :).
