(looking at that other email) ... Yes! That's exactly the same problem.
It looks like you were running the same test I was - a big -jN
buildworld.
Also, looking at your other email... you have a process stuck in an
inode wait state in 'ld' too!
Your original email goes back to December 31st, long before I even began
working on the VM system ( so there! John! ).
Ok, we know where to look -- it's obviously related to the exec_map. It's
just a matter of finding where in the code the locks are being made
out-of-order.
