I am running a FreeBSD 2.2.8 system which stopped running syslog (when I manually try to run it, I get 'syslogd: child pid <pid> exited with return code 1' I think I have traced it down to the fact that I have no /var/run/log file. My question is, how do I make the /var/run/log file? Do I use mknod? If so, what are the major/minors? Any help will be extremely helpful and appreciated To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
