Well, it is if you look at the static initializer for it above:

#define EVIL	0x29A

static int NFS = EVIL ;

So though that code was indeed incorrectly doing an assignment of EVIL
to NFS, it was already initialized that way to begin with!

Time for a new network filesystem type?
