FreeBSD only supports version 7.8 of the FUSE protocol.  IOCTLs were
added in 7.11.

Yes, I don't believe FreeBSD supports mountpoints other than
directories.  This is enforced in vfs_domount_first() with the v_type
!=3D VDIR check.
