Yes, all the time. Are you by chance using the memory limit options in named.conf? They cause named to dump core in this way. > 2) What can I do to stop this error?? Nothing. You should probably do this in /etc/login.conf instead, but that's up to you. I have a script that tests to see if named is running and starts it if it's not. If you need a copy mail me privately.
