I've note similar activity with my CDROM drive(s).

I solved some of my problems by doing a ro,noauto in
the options fields of fstab(5). Other than that check
with hackers@freebsd.org to see if someone has a fix.
If it's truely annoying, you might consider writing
a Problem Report at:

or on your own system there is a send-pr(1)
