[Don't reply to me, this is a bogus address, I read via news] Situation is a 3.0.0-19990105-SNAP installed over a much earlier installation via upgrade. I noticed the following, but haven't investigated them thoroughly to be able to say whether it's something I've done wrong. If you can't duplicate these or know about them, then ignore this message. I haven't been following very closely... entries added to the end of /etc/syslog.conf seem to have no effect. However, if I relocate them above the lines !startslip *.* /var/log/slip.log [...] then the added lines work as they should. I haven't looked into this. `pw user add' and `pw user mod' hang at the point of executing /usr/sbin/pwd_mkdb -C /etc/master.passwd but then, I'm on kind of a weird network, in case it's trying to do anything DNS-related. `pw user show' executes without any delay at all. Executing the above line by itself also seems to get stuck somewhere. Other means of updating the passwd file have no problems. I haven't looked into this either. Those are the only things I think I've seen so far that I can remember. Like I say, if you can reproduce these, then I guess I'm not imagining too many things. thankz, barry bouwsma To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-current" in the body of the message
