I spent a little time on this last week when getting ready to upgrade a
couple servers. If you edit the Makefile and comment out:
.if ${MACHINE_ARCH} == "alpha"
SUBDIR+= arc
.endif
Won't hurt unless you need a new ARC bootloader and it will let your
source tree build happily :)
