I just want to know what these people are doing if not answering 
questions.  Guessing and begging users for input is traditional stuff, 
but if there's a better alternative, I'm all for it.

Sounds reasonable to me.  What we need are some underlings for you to 
boss around doing your grunt work.  JD and the moonshine gang?
