+----[ Andy Farkas ]--------------------------------------------- | | Could somebody please explain why I can't get into one of my systems? I | am getting a 'telnetd: All network ports in use.' message when I try to | telnet to port 23, but other services are ok. Tcp_wrappers is installed. You usually need to install more ptys in your kernel config when you see this message. I'm not sure what effect TCP_wrappers will have on this, none I would imagine. If you already build a kernel with a lot of ptys, did you MAKEDEV them in /dev ? You will only be able to get in once either a) Someone logs off (or closes an xterm) b) You go to the console -- Totally Holistic Enterprises Internet| P:+61 7 3870 0066 | Andrew The Internet (Aust) Pty Ltd | F:+61 7 3870 4477 | Milton ACN: 082 081 472 | M:+61 416 022 411 |72 Col .Sig PO Box 837 Indooroopilly QLD 4068 |akm@theinternet.com.au|Specialist To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-isp" in the body of the message
