My bad. I went by <https://www.freebsd.org/security/#model>; alone (the
penultimate paragraph) without digging further into
<https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-announce/2015-February/001624.html>;
(which I did read, albeit years ago … its significance was forgotten, sorry). 

So, the patch is obsolete (and close this report, if you like, it's premature).
