Seems the probe is more the issue, rather than enumerating the storage device. I will try and replicate this problem here locally. Any information of make/model of the mSATA device & the mSATA-to-USB enclosure? I have a Samsung mSATA SSD (850 EVO, IIRC) that needs to be backed-up & wiped.
