Hello - Need to upgrade to the latest XFree86 - I issued the following commands 1)tar xvf xfree86xxx.tar -C /somewhere/tmp/ 2)cd /usr/X11R6/ 3)chmod 755 /somewhere/tmp/xfree86xxxx/preinst.sh 4)chmod 755 /somewhere/tmp/xfree86xxxx/postinst.sh 5)chmod 755 /somewhere/tmp/xfree86xxxx/extract 6)/somewhere/tmp/xfree86xxxx/preinst.sh 7)/somewhere/tmp/xfree86xxxx/extract /var/tmp/xfree86xxxx/*.tgz 8)/somewhere/tmp/xfree86xxxx/postinst.sh 9)shutdown -r now When it reboots I typed : - man XFree86 Shows XFree863.3.5 When it should be XFree863.3.6 Question 1) Is their a simpler like pkg_add XFree863.3.6.tgz.? Can't find it on the BSD website 2) From what I did above what seems to be wrong? Please Cc This response to dannyh@alpha.net.au so I can read it at work.
