I don't recommend you try this. This can really stress your mail server in a big way. I tried this with 386BSD from gatekeeper using an email account at work. The whole network in the lab slowed in a rather spectacular way. The network administrator was permanently demented over this. Try ftp.physics.usyd.edu.au at night. Until a few months ago I use to download from this site using a 14.4 modem via ozemail. The site has a freebsd mirror. Alternatively, if you want more than a few of the distributions, order the CDROM from Walnut Creek. -----Original Message----- From: Doug White <dwhite@gdi.uoregon.edu> To: Graham Jenkins <grahamj@webnet.com.au> Cc: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG <freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG> Date: Tuesday, 28 October 1997 11:16 Subject: Re: FreeBSD via Email >You would be better served by buying the CDROM than using this method. >The distribution files are split into 240k chunks and there are >50 of >them for the bin distirbution alone. >
