I use a D-Link WUA-1340 on my amd64 box. Shows up in the dmesg as:

rum0: <Ralink 802.11 bg WLAN, class 0/0, rev 2.00/0.01, addr 2> on usbus7
rum0: MAC/BBP RT2573 (rev 0x2573a), RF RT2528

Works great on amd64/8.1, and I'd assume it would be the same on ppc.

later,

Peter.
