Hi, I can't record sound from my Hauppage WinTV with ffmpeg. The audio out of the tvcard is connected to the line in of the soundcard. I can record sound with moTV (XawTV) but not with ffmpeg. ffmpeg records sound if I choose another input device like the cd in. It looks like ffmpeg is forgetting to the the tvcard to send it's sound to the audio card. ffmpeg tells me that it records the sound, but all it gets is silence. ffmpeg -target dvd -vd /dev/bktr -ac 2 -tvstd PAL /var/tmp/fft.mpeg What am I missing here? pcm0: <nVidia nForce4> port 0xdc00-0xdcff,0xe000-0xe0ff mem 0xca103000-0xca103fff irq 23 at device 4.0 on pci0 pcm0: [GIANT-LOCKED] pcm0: <Avance Logic ALC850 AC97 Codec> bktr0: <BrookTree 878> mem 0xca000000-0xca000fff irq 16 at device 6.0 on pci5 bktr0: [GIANT-LOCKED] bktr0: Hauppauge Model 61324 D229 bktr0: Detected a MSP3415D-A2 at 0x80 bktr0: Hauppauge WinCast/TV, Philips PAL I tuner, msp3400c stereo, remote control. dev.bktr.0.%desc: BrookTree 878 dev.bktr.0.%driver: bktr dev.bktr.0.%location: slot=6 function=0 dev.bktr.0.%pnpinfo: vendor=0x109e device=0x036e subvendor=0x0070 subdevice=0x13eb class=0x040000 dev.bktr.0.%parent: pci5 Mixer vol is currently set to 88:88 Mixer pcm is currently set to 66:66 Mixer speaker is currently set to 88:88 Mixer line is currently set to 82:82 Mixer mic is currently set to 93:93 Mixer cd is currently set to 88:88 Mixer rec is currently set to 81:81 Mixer ogain is currently set to 78:78 Mixer line1 is currently set to 90:90 Mixer phin is currently set to 90:90 Mixer phout is currently set to 84:84 Recording source: line -- Tschüss Frank
