I thought I had booted a new kernel... but turns out I've only booted one
make in mid-March with the gcc31 that I had at that time. :-(

Quite sorry.  I will note the primary gcc 3.1 build world tests were done
on my DS-10.  I am installing the gcc295 and gcc31 ports now to see how
kernels built with those compilers do.
