BTW, I assume that newsyslog DTRT when you have some old gz logs and some
old bz logs, and keeps rotating both in a DWIM kind of way?  (i.e., if a
site transitions to bz gradually by means of this default, the expected
thing happens WRT holding onto old logs?)

Also, per our discussion, this is not an MFC candidate.  :-)
