Well, we saw better performance on the Sun A3500 RAID array than we did using Veritas Volume Manager to try the same thing against just a box of disks (D-1000s). The 3500 is OEM'd from Symbios, I think, and has hardware to do the XOR computing, plus a signaifcant amount of front-end cache. > How fast is fast enough?
