Urk. files/patch-ba patches out automatic Cups detection (ok), patches in the --with/without-cups args (ok), but has the side effect of not allowing samba to use the native cups interface. The patch cuts out the AC_DEFINE(HAVE_CUPS). I'll prepare a PR to fix that. It'll still have no effect if the smb.conf isn't set to cups, but it means that cups-lpr would not be required anymore.
