Okay. When Unix was dreamed up it didn't have a nice pretty interface and
everything had to be done by hand using the CLI. If you didn't know everything
about the ins and the outs of the OS, well then, you damn well learned,
because you weren't spoiled by things like GUIs and packages and install
scripts and makefiles or anything more than the basic shell and a few
binaries.

WAKE UP, THIS IS 1998. PEOPLE DO NOT USE PUNCHCARDS ANYMORE. WE HAVE HOME
COMPUTERS NOW. IN FACT, WE'VE HAD THEM FOR SOME TIME.

Tell me, if you'd been born at the same time last century would you have
disapproved of the use of electricity?

I know you may not like it, Jay, but times change. The computer userbase is
just a smidgeon larger than it was back in 1980 - FWIW, a long time before
anything Unix-like entered the home computer. Unlike twenty years ago, a lot
of people who use computers today are _not_ experts.

Sure, they haven't contributed anything to this project at this time. (Yet.)
It doesn't stop them from having an _opinion_. And it won't stop _you_ from
using your box much the same as you always have. Leave the newbies to their
GUIs, they'll get curious about what's under the bonnet soon enough. After
all, today's newbies are tomorrow's contributors.
