I saw the original posting by phk and was going to try and validate
it here on my x230, which might narrow this down to an AMD only issue,
or a "we starting using new instructions" issue. But time has gotten

I do know that I ran an earlier 12.0Alpha3 on my 11.1 x230 laptop
without issue.
