Hi all, I've acquired a Dell C640, which is a ACPI only laptop. * ACPI is only available on -CURRENT, but that's not a problem as I was already running -CURRENT on my previous laptop. * Machine boots/works fine without ACPI with both OLDCARD and NEWCARD (Ofcourse no powermanagement available) * Machine boots fine with ACPI and OLDCARD or no *CARD at all * Machine hangs during boot with ACPI and NEWCARD on: "start_init: trying to /sbin/init" * With the options with ACPI and where it boots fine, ACPI is not working great For example, closing the lid makes the machine suspend in some way, but opening again doesn't turn my screen on again For obvious reasons I want to get this working ofcourse. First step would seem to get the machine booting with both NEWCARD and ACPI as OLDCARD is being deprecated. Next thing would be to get the ACPI correct. Note that I am willing to spend quite some time on this, but I will need some guidance here as this part of the kernel is new to me. (Warner?) Thanks.
