I've already sent this message to freebsd-questions list, but nobody
could help me. Maybe it's more hardware related?

I'm trying to install FreeBSD on my computer which uses an Asus A7V133
main board with onboard Promise RAID controller, configured in RAID 0
(and fully operational under Windows XP). I also have a CD-writer and a
DVD, each connected to the one of the two IDE connectors of the VIA
chipset. When I load the kernel from the FreeBSD CD, I receive the
following
message:

<PASTE>
ar0: 58623 MB (ATA RAID0 array> [7473/255/63] subdisks:
  ad4: 29311 MB <Maxtor 5T030H3> [59554/16/63] at ata2-master UDMA100
  ad4: 29311 MB <Maxtor 5T030H3> [59554/16/63] at ata2-master UDMA100
(null) REQUEST_SENSE command timeout - resetting
ata0: resetting devices
</PASTE>

The kernel does find the RAID0 array... but gives a timeout?

Any help would be appreciated,
Thomas Coppens
