Hi all. I hope i didn't spam too many people. the thing is this. i've got a Yamaha 4416 internal IDE CD-RW. Now i have read a lot of webpages and saw that FreeBSd doesn't really support IDE CD-RW, but i really don't have the money to buy a scsi drive+scsi card + cable etc.... So i poked around in the kernel konfig and lo and behold under wcd has a description for IDE CD-ROM / CD-RW i think. check it out in the link config file. now my question is, will i be able to compile the kernel with the old style drivers and be able to use my cd-rw that way. or is there some software that can do the SCSI emulation over IDE already. cdrecord doesn't work. unless i've missed something.
