I think you are looking for something which doesn't exist. The only script involved with "controlling" named (that I know of) is /etc/rc. What I think you want in /usr/local/sbin/rndc. root@>> /usr/local/sbin/rndc status number of zones: 8 debug level: 0 xfers running: 0 xfers deferred: 0 soa queries in progress: 0 query logging is OFF server is up and running Robert Huff
