I'm doing a simple dig on various nameservers and listing the output side by
side.  Using XML in place of a 5 line shell script would be like swatting a
fly with a ping-pong bat (A bit slower and you're likely to miss :)..

There's a good case for keeping large batches of data in well managed
central databases.  If you're able to query this data from a nice XML
template then you'll probably same time and money.  The key is picking the
right tool for the job.  I recall asking one of my tutors why he bothered to
write code for Windows.  His response was something along the lines of:

"No sense [unix] using a big hammer on a small nail.  Likewise, no sense
using a small hammer [Windows] on a big nail."
