Hi, I have an old CD-R/W IDE drive, HP CD-Writer 9300i (firmware: 1.0c), and I'm expecting problems using it on applications like cdrecord (SCSI emulation by using ATAPICAM). I'm using FreeBSD 5.2.1-p8, and even sending a simple blank-CD command (blank=fast, blank=all, no matter the kind of blank command), I got a kernel panic. On FreeBSD 5.0 & 5.1, these problems never occoured. Using burncd, I can burn everything without any problem (as expected, not using ATAPICAM), but I want to use cdrecord to write audio CDs using DAO recording method, since I want to backup some live CDs that I own. I know that burncd supports DAO writing mode, but passing the -d switch gives me an error (the recorder refuses the cue sheet and aborts the writing). Anybody here is getting this kind of problem using IDE CD-R/W drives? Any possible solutions? Thanks in advance, m0f0x
