Hi, I too have searchd (apparently in vain) for ways to do this sort of thing under FreeBSD. If you want to try Linux, there's a myriad of ways. For a start see the www.linux-ha.org. SGI are porting their HA s/w to Linux. There's "heartbeat". There are several types of remote mirroring using "network block devices". As far as I can see, FreeBSD has none of these. :-( All the "clustering" software around seems to be aimed at parallel processing applications. Of course, I could be wrong, it has happened once before. :-) For FreeBSD I would be more than happy to be proved wrong. I would much rather use it than Linux. However one must use what's available.
