We use NIS, because, as far as I can tell, you have to hack pppd to make 
it a Radius client. But, of course, you'd have to have FreeBSD, or some 
other Unix flavor w/ NIS to do your authenticating from. If you're 
interested, take a look at the manpage for yp .
