By all means, please contribute as much as possible. We use DocBook in the FreeBSD Documentation Project (http://www.freebsd.org/docproj/sgml.html), but your work will be appreciated no matter how you submit it (text, html, etc..). You can submit your additions with send-pr(1). I am not aware of anyone else that is working on this section.
