Oops, this is only for i386 where there is considerable extra precision. On A64, the maximum error actually mysteriously increased a little (to 0.9101 ulps), and there are a lot more imperfectly rounded cases (17928157 now). The algorithm is only supposed to give < 1 ulps. Bruce
