Of course, sorry. Last time I looked there was a file lib.tar.gz in the systems/web2c (?) on CTAN, which allegedly contained all the necessary styles and format files for the texmf hierarchy. Nowadays it should also contain the latest latex2e. If that's true, the latex port could go. tg (I knew there was a reason why I still use the 1.1.5.1 tex port.)
