I think that the HP hardware is sold with an adapter for micro SD. The adapter is detected as a card but without memory. This produce the timeout. (I test on my ACER and encounter the same problem). This symptom were the same occuring on Lenovo and so I believe, wrongly, that the inversion was needed. But you must have a "normal" RTS522A and don't need inversion. If you use the official version 2.0c and boot without the adapter inserted all will be OK and then you can insert your card and have a test. Sorry for this but I was not aware of this problem with an empty adapter.
