Hi,
I want you to notice that the 2.2.5-RELEASE distribution available in
ftp.freebsd.org and its mirrors has at least one corrupt file.
The packages/All/pinei-3.96.tgz file is corrupted.
Look the tar's output:
# tar tvzf pine-3.96.tgz

tar: Skipping to next file header...
The solution is cd to /usr/ports/mail/pine and run make install as root.
