There is a better way that I had found while was answering to Norikatsu's letter: add the string ----- Option "AllowEmptyInput" ----- to your xorg.conf "ServerFlags" section and you should see no additional mouse devices and probably Synaptics mice will be alive. Roman, this concerns you too ;)) Please, try it if you prefer to use single pointer from touchpad. -- Eygene
