But it wasn't _committed_ to -stable, instead made available as a
separate package.  I've also did my initial CD-R driver work on a 2.1R
machine, but had to retrofit the changes to -current, in order to
commit them.  (A minute later i decided to give up the dual way, and
run some sort of -current even on my machine at work since.)
