Hello Gene, From: "Gene Harris (e-mail)" <geneh@tetronsoftware.com> Date: Sun, 5 Jan 2003 15:35:24 -0600 ::I seem to recall that after installing jdk13 from ports that I can remove the ::linux-sun-jdk needed to bootstrap the compiler. Is this true, and is there ::any documentation on how to do port upgrades of jdk13 after the linux-sun-jdk ::is removed. There was some discussion about it on this list, a while ago, so you could search the archive for full details. You can delete linux-sun-jdk after installing jdk13 from ports and then use 'make NATIVE_BOOTSTRAP=true' when compiling jdk13 port for self bootstrapping. Also when you are using portupgrade, you could set "'java/jdk13' => 'NATIVE_BOOTSTRAP=1'" in /usr/local/etc/pkgtools.conf to automate the upgrade.
