Personally, I found it useful for my first couple of OS installs, but not very helpful with fun stuff like setting up a web server, or making yer box dial out, or slightly more advanced stuff. As a basic primer for the first time user, it's OK. I think a web site based on the trials and tribulations of all the talented (and patient) people on this list would be a huge resource.
