The problem with Linux, as I remember it, was that the NFS client in
the kernel was using a non-privileged port to talk to the Linux nfsd.
Now that I think about this again, it seems that this is a different
problem since it happens at mount time.

How does the VMS export filesystems to NFS (i.e. what is its
equivalent to /etc/exports)?  Can you mount from other operating
systems?
