One of the big problems is that install gives a bogus error message when it can't unlink /usr/bin/make because it's non-root. Since there's no way that I'm going to suggest changing install's behavior this late in the release cycle, can we at least make buildworld's "make" target ensure that you're root, and avoid install's bogus error?
