I took a look through the archives and found that someone suggested that using softupdates on a vinum drive with the drive's internal cache enabled might not be a good idea. Is there any general consensus on this? The drives in question are Seagate U160's (9GB) with 4MB on on-board cache enabled through the controller (an Adaptec 29160).
